A quick view from my window to give you an idea of what we are dealing with now. Yes friends, that is what is known as "Blizzard Conditions". Lets be real, the only blizzards I like come from DQ, and since my biggest loser participation, I haven't seen many as of late. That is until today. So maybe there was some sort of misunderstanding when I said "Man, I would kill for a blizzard."
Let's please remember that we got 14+ inches of snow merely 3 days ago. And, while Colorado may be used to this much snow....in Kansas it has been around 40-50 most of the winter...and I kind of like it that way :)
The meteorologists may have gotten a little excited about this storm coming through today. At first it was supposed to start snowing last night. Then it was pushed to this morning. And then this afternoon. I woke up at 4:30 am, to an emergency alert "Blizzard Conditions". I went to work, came home from work....nothing. NOTHING. I was starting to think I had been punk'd, but finally at 8:00pm, the road was finally dusted with snow. Hopefully this means it won't stay long.
So, stay warm my friends, and enjoy a night in. We will be...while we Rock Chalk!

Recovery at its finest
This past Friday, at the crack of dawn, after 15 inches of snow the two days before, Jay and I took a little field trip over to the Via Christi Clinic to fix up his knee. I'm sure that both him and I would have rather been shoveling snow or making snowmen (maybe not at 7am), but what can you do :)
The surgery only took about 30 minutes, which is good, because when I get too bored, I just start shopping online. (Surgeries are already expensive enough without me buying all kinds of stuff, right?!) They had to clean up a bunch of scar tissue and fix a tear. The doctor provided me with a bunch of photos, which given my lack of medical/surgical background, could have been of his left pinkie and I wouldn't of known. I'll trust that he knows what he is doing, and I'll just stick to my accounting stuff :)
We finally got home around 12, and got him all settled into the couch in the basement. He has not been upstairs since; just living the dream, everything he needs is delivered, and he only has to get up to go to the bathroom. I have even bribed the cats with treats to babysit, and they are doing a lovely job. (pic below)
Tomorrow all the bandages get to come of and he is supposed to start moving his knee around. Until then I am going to enjoy my house staying clean :)

And we rock and chalk again
After a VERY rough last 3 weeks in rock chalk land, tonight my boys returned. It was like the good ole days from about a month ago. That's my boys!! And it couldn't have come at a better time, rivalry week. Going to work tomorrow just got a heck of a lot easier.
Some furballs are just born with a lil jayhawk in their blood. :)
