So, it's week 27. Happy "last week of second trimester", Babe!
You are the size of a rutabaga, and honestly, I had no idea what that was...So, I googled it. (I feel like if we are going to use fruit and vegtables for reference, they should stick to common ones, that people have actually heard of). At any rate, after limited google research, I still know nothing about a rutabaga except it grows in the ground, and it like a cross between a turnip and cabbage. I got a second opinion at parents.com for a week-by week fruit comparison, that says you should be the size of cauliflower, which I thought was a vegetable, but what do I know. Moving on...
We had our last monthly appointment Tuesday. It's every two weeks now! Babe gave us a bit of a scare, because while the doctor was checking everything, I was told my belly was measuring small. We had to go in the next day for a sonogram, to make sure Babe was still growing ok. Ugh. Given everything I had going on at work, and then that....to say I was overwhelmed was an understatement.
So Wednesday, we went in for a sonogram. *side note: when they show those ladies, all happy to be getting a sonogram, that is a load of bull. What they forget to mention is the fact that you feel like you are going to wet yourself, because you have had to, what feels like, drink your weight in water for the hour and a half prior to that. Then you get to have some sonogram tech test your bladder by pushing on your belly for 15-30 min. Ok, rant over :D *. Good news is that she is growing just fine! She is in the 50th percentile and weighs 2 lbs. Apparently she is just a big fan of curling up in a ball, because she had a lot of space in there and she wasn't really using 1/2 of it.
One positive of another sonogram, is that we got to confirm that she is still a "she". That should put to rest some of my dreams about having a boy that only has pink stuff to wear :). That's also good news given that we received some pretty great items in the mail today. How cute are these!?!
